Everton are interested in taking Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay this month and could even be open to a swap deal to get it done.
McTominay has been one of the shining lights for United this season in an otherwise difficult season.
The Scotland star is a wanted man, having been tracked by Newcastle and West Ham over the summer before eventually staying at United.
However, Football Transfers now reports that Everton are keen on a deal for McTominay, and they may even be open to swapping Amadou Onana to get the deal done.
Everton would love to sign Scott McTominay
It’s claimed in the report that McTominay is one of the major transfer targets for Sean Dyche. The Everton boss is apparently wanting players who can come into the XI and make an immediate impact.
Clearly, he sees McTominay as a player who can do just that.

Interestingly, it’s mentioned in the report how Everton might even be open to doing some sort of swap deal involving star midfielder Onana and McTominay.
The report references United’s own interest in Onana and even says the Red Devils have initiated talks over signing the Belgian starlet.
Given both clubs’ issues with FFP, it’s suggested that a swap-deal involving the pair could well end up suiting everyone.
Everton are also keen on another United player, Hannibal Mejbri. Reports over the weekend claimed the Toffees were trying to ‘hijack‘ a bid from Sevilla for the youngster.
McTominay would fly for Everton
We’ve seen this season how McTominay can play when given the license to be an all action midfielder.
His five goals from midfield in the league have been eye-catching and he’s shown to Erik ten Hag that he’s a player who can be trusted.
It would seem odd for United to let McTominay go at this stage. However, if they are desperate for Onana and that’s the only way to the do the deal, then it might have to be how it is.
For Everton, signing McTominay would be huge. They’d get that player with PL experience that Dyche wants but also a player who will want to show those at Old Trafford that they’ve made a mistake.
McTominay would fly under Sean Dyche and he’d give Everton a massive mid-season boost.
