Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has changed his mind about Scott McTominay.
That is according to The Independent journalist Miguel Delaney, who has noted that United were willing to sell McTominay in the summer of 2023.
So, what has been reported about Manchester United, Erik ten Hag and Scott McTominay? Let’s take a look.
Scott McTominay changes Erik ten Hag’s view of him
Well, according to The Independent journalist Miguel Delaney in his Reading the Game newsletter (12:01 pm, December 8, 2023), Scott McTominay has changed Erik ten Hag’s mind.
Delaney has said that Manchester United were willing to sell McTominay in the summer of 2023, but he will not leave the former Premier League champions in the January transfer window.
McTominay has now established himself as an important player in the United team. According to former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood on talkSPORT in March 2023, he is “underrated and undervalued”.

The Scotland international has made nine starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Red Devils this campaign.
The 27-year-old has scored five goals in those games. McTominay has scored one goal and provided one assist in four UEFA Champions League matches for United. He is doing well now.
Delaney wrote: “United’s main business is set to be sales this January, as they need to sell to buy. They will at least listen to any approaches on Casemiro and Raphael Varane.
“That was previously Scott McTominay’s status, too, but he has done more than enough to change Ten Hag’s mind. The midfielder has actually gone some way to redirecting the season.”
Scott McTominay is a Manchester United success story
Scott McTominay is not a world-class player, and I do not think that he will ever get to that level. However, he is a very good and hard-working footballer, and I am pleased that he is doing well for Manchester United.
McTominay is 27 now. He has been on the books of United since 2002 and has made 156 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. He has scored 17 goals and given three assists in those games.
