In a move that very few saw coming, it seems as if there’s a credible chance that Kieran Trippier could leave Newcastle United this month.

Bayern Munich seemed to launch their interest in Trippier out of nowhere, as they look to continue their English squad building.

There’s no doubt that both Eric Dier and Harry Kane would be pleased to see Trippier arrive in Germany, even if many Newcastle fans will feel otherwise.

Trippier has been the poster boy of Eddie Howe’s successful new era at the club, and he seems as important on the pitch as he is off it.

And whilst it doesn’t seem well advised for Newcastle to allow Trippier to leave this month, even if he’s suffered a dip in form, it seems a move could be gathering pace.

German journalist Christian Falk has now provided an important update from Bayern’s side of the deal.

Falk shared his news on X, and suggested that the transfer is still very possible.

Crucial talks planned today ahead of Kieran Trippier potentially leaving Newcastle this month

Falk is very well connected at Bayern Munich and shared his exclusive update this morning.

He said: “Exclusive: Crucial talks today for the transfer of Kieran Trippier (33) between Newcastle and Bayern.”

It was reported earlier today that there hadn’t been too much movement on a deal since the weekend.

However, this fresh update from Falk does fuel the idea that Trippier could complete a quite sensational Newcastle exit this month.

It is believed that Trippier would be open to a move, a crucial part of any deal.

And with the Euros on the horizon this summer, some England fans might be pleased if Trippier were to link up with Kane in the Bundesliga.

However, a move really would leave Eddie Howe’s squad weakened.

Yes, it does seem as Newcastle need to raise funds, but Trippier surely isn’t the best player to sell.

Valentino Livramento has looked brilliant in his starts this season, but it would suddenly be a lot of pressure for the youngster.

Newcastle do believe Livramento will go on to star for England, but may have not planned to make him their starting option so soon.
