Tottenham Hotspur have a busy summer ahead of them as they look to bolster their ranks for next season.

Antonio Conte did superbly to get a previously uninspiring Spurs side into the Premier League’s top four.

With the added workload of European competition, Tottenham must now increase their strength in depth.

And in order to kick on in the Premier League and go far in Europe, Spurs need more quality throughout too.

One position Tottenham must strengthen is that of centre-forward.

While Harry Kane is one of the best strikers in the world, he can’t do it all on his own for an entire season.

The England captain needs someone to compete with him for a starting spot and cover for him when he’s unavailable.

According to reports, Tottenham are eyeing one of the best young forwards in the game.

In April, the Sunday Mirror (24/4/22; page 75) claimed Spurs had set their sights on Inter Milan talent Martin Satriano.

The 21-year-old joined the Nerazzurri youth setup from Uruguay’s Nacional in January 2020.

Satriano has impressed for the Inter Primavera, registering 16 goals and 10 assists from 37 outings.

This year, he joined French side Brest on loan, and has registered four goals from 16 appearances.

“I am obviously glad”

Satriano’s Inter contract runs until 2027, but that has not stopped him from being linked with a move elsewhere.

Indeed, he has welcomed Spurs’ reported interest in him.

Satriano told L’Interista (via The Express): “I have heard and read about Tottenham.

“I am obviously glad that some teams have noticed me, but only because it means that I am doing well.

“But, I am young and I have to grow.”

As well as Tottenham, Chelsea are apparently eyeing the Uruguayan too.

While still relatively inexperienced in competitive senior football, Satriano has been tipped for stardom.

He has earned comparisons with compatriots Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani.

Indeed, Satriano was branded as ‘the new Luis Suarez’ by Gazzetta dello Sport in July last year.

It has also been suggested that he is more natural almost as a number 10 because he wants to make things happen.

Tottenham fans should be excited about the prospect of Satriano joining Spurs.

He can learn from two of the best forwards in the game in Kane and Son Heung-min, and a world-class manager in Conte.

Fabio Paratici and Conte have struck gold this year with Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur.

Satriani looks like another gem from Serie A – hopefully Tottenham will look to get him on board too.
