Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring Martin Satriano with Antonio Conte’s men planning to sign a striker no matter what happens with Harry Kane this summer, according to a report from the Sunday Mirror (24/4; page 75).

Spurs’ plans this summer will largely depend on whether they qualify for the Champions League next year. Certainly, it could be a hugely exciting window should they finish fourth, and hold onto Conte and Kane.

Of course, the slight downside for Tottenham should Kane stay is that they, once again, face the tricky task of trying to land an understudy for the England captain.

They have been linked with a raft of forwards. And it seems that another can now be added to the wishlist. The Sunday Mirror (24/4; page 75) reports that Tottenham are keen on Satriano.

The 21-year-old is on loan at Brest from Inter Milan. And he has scored four goals in 11 games for the Ligue 1 side. His record for the Nerazzurri’s youngsters is also impressive, with 16 goals and 10 assists in 37 games.

The Sunday Mirror adds that Chelsea also want Satriano.

Tottenham may have advantage over Chelsea in Satriano race

Inter may well want to keep Satriano, particularly with Lautaro Martinez being linked with a move away from San Siro this summer.

But should Tottenham and Chelsea make offers, it may not be a huge surprise if the Uruguayan ultimately prefers to make the move to Spurs.

He signed for Inter while Conte was in charge in Milan. So you would imagine that he would be open to the idea of being reunited with the Italian.

Satriano has been compared with Edinson Cavani previously due to his selflessness on the pitch. But it has been suggested that he is more natural almost as a number 10 because he wants to make things happen.

With that in mind, he may perhaps be a fantastic option to have as a backup for Kane.
