Chelsea earned more money in transfer fees than any other club in world football this summer after allowing 11 players to leave Stamford Bridge permanently.
It has once again been a busy transfer window for the Blues, with countless incomings and outgoings, as the FIFA World Club champions aim to push for more silverware this season.
The six-time Premier League winners have made an unbeaten start to the new campaign, leaving them in second place in the league table after the opening three games.
Chelsea have been big spenders again this summer, but their ability as a selling club might be overlooked.
The Blues have reduced the squad size throughout this window, providing space for new signings to freshen up the squad, and they have made plenty of money while going about their business.

Chelsea becomes the first club to recoup over £300m in sales
The Blues have had no problem trimming the squad this summer, allowing fringe and first-team players to depart Stamford Bridge for pastures new.
They have proved their business sense by earning £314.4million, more than any other club in the world, becoming the first to recoup over £300million in history, according to Sky Sports.
Noni Madueke’s move to Arsenal was a notable sale, with the Gunners paying £52million for the tricky winger despite him being a regular under Enzo Maresca last season.
The Blues experienced deadline-day drama when Nicolas Jackson departed Chelsea on loan with an obligation to buy.
Bayern Munich have paid a £14.2 million loan fee, despite some last-minute drama due to Liam Delap’s injury almost stopping it. The Bundesliga side will pay £70.5 million to make the deal permanent.
Christopher Nkunku was another high-profile departure. His injury-plagued time in the Premier League was brought to an end with a £37million move to AC Milan.
Meanwhile, Joao Felix’s second spell with the Blues was also finished, as he was sold to Al-Nassr for £30million.
Chelsea fans might have wanted a new goalkeeper in the summer, but that didn’t stop the club from selling Djordje Petrovic to Bournemouth for £28.90million.
Kepa Arrizabalaga’s seven-year stint at Stamford Bridge ended as he joined Arsenal for £5.80million.
The goalkeeper sales continued as Marcus Bettinelli became one of three goalkeepers who Man City signed this summer for £2.40million, with Maresca trimming down his options between the sticks.
Lesley Ugochukwu joined Burnley for a further £28.70million, and fellow Chelsea teammate Armando Broja joined him at Turf Moor, making the switch to Scott Parker’s team for £23million.
Basir Humphreys then completed Burnley’s raid on the Chelsea squad, completing his permanent move to the newly promoted side for £14million.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall only managed one season with the Blues before joining Everton for £28.65million, having failed to break into Maresca’s side beyond the Europa Conference League campaign.

Another player who never managed to secure a first-team position under the current Chelsea boss was Renato Veiga, who joined Villarreal for £24.5million this summer.
Another youngster who departed was Carney Chukwuemeka, who signed for Borussia Dortmund for a £20million fee. Mathis Amougou joined RC Strasbourg for £14.5million, and finally, Chelsea academy graduate Alfie Gilchrist also ended his spell with the club, joining West Bromwich Albion for £2.3million.

Chelsea have reinvested money in Enzo Maresca’s squad
Chelsea might have earned plenty of money this summer, but they are also the Premier League’s second-biggest spenders behind Liverpool. The owners have once again financially backed Maresca, spending £296.5million throughout the summer transfer window.
The Blues have bolstered their attacking options at the top of the pitch by signing Delap and Joao Pedro, with the aim being to finally secure a regular goalscoring threat in the number nine position.

Chelsea will also have more strength in depth out wide due to Jamie Gittens and Estevao Willian’s moves to London, while Jorrel Hato was brought in to give some more competition to the team’s defensive side.
Alejandro Garnacho also arrived at Chelsea after being signed from Manchester United for £40million, bringing some Premier League experience with him.
Whether Chelsea’s busy summer transfer will result in success on the field remains to be seen, but the manager certainly has been given the opportunity.
