Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea think that Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur are going to bid for Ivan Toney.
That is according to The Sun, which has claimed interest from Arsenal as well.
So, what is being reported about Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Ivan Toney? Let’s take a look.
What’s the story?
Well, according to The Sun, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur all are interested in signing Ivan Toney from London and Premier League rivals Brentford in the January transfer window.
Chelsea insiders think that Tottenham and Arsenal are going to make a bid for the 27-year-old England international striker, described as “a world-class” player by former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster.
Brentford value the striker at £100 million. Toney is serving a ban at the moment and will be back in action in January.

The Sun has claimed that “insiders at Stamford Bridge” are “convinced” that Tottenham are lining up a bid to sign Toney as a replacement for Harry Kane.
Kane left Tottenham for Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.
The Sun has reported: “Spurs have played down speculation linking them to Toney, claiming they are more focused on adding defensive cover in the new year.
“But sources at Stamford Bridge are not convinced and are preparing to go head-to-head with their city neighbours in the transfer market.”
Ivan Toney is too expensive for Tottenham Hotspur
I do not think that Tottenham Hotspur will pay £100 million for Ivan Toney in the January transfer window, even though he has been described as “extraordinary” in the past.
It is simply too expensive for Spurs. While Tottenham have spent money on new players in recent windows, I do not see Spurs chairman Daniel Levy splash as much as £100 million on a single player.
Spurs were linked with Toney as a potential replacement for Kane in the summer transfer window.
Yes, Toney is a very good striker who has done well in the Premier League, but Kane cost £100 million. Is Toney really as good as Kane?
Toney has made 68 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. The striker has scored 32 goals and given nine assists in those games.
