Chelsea may be about to make Fabio Paratici look like he got an absolute bargain for Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Reports suggested today that the Blues are lining up a huge £60 million bid for Everton winger Anthony Gordon.

Gordon is an apparent target for Spurs as well but it seems that Chelsea now have the upper hand with such a significant offer.

But if the Blues do pay such a huge fee for the youngster, it will make Tottenham’s deal for Richarlison look even better.

Spurs signed Richarlison earlier this summer for a fee worth £60 million (BBC), which is exactly the same amount that is being touted for Gordon. But the Brazilian had a much bigger impact than Gordon has had at Goodison Park.

Paratici got an absolute bargain for Spurs

While there is no doubting that the 21-year-old Gordon is an exciting prospect, Richarlison outperformed the youngster last season.

Richarlison was key in Everton avoiding the drop as he finished as the club’s top scorer with 10 Premier League goals.

In the absence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the Brazilian really stepped up to help keep the Toffees up.

While Gordon was also excellent for Everton, he didn’t quite have the same impact in terms of output.

The English youngster managed four goals across the season in the Premier League and he’s undoubtedly a talented player, but he hasn’t quite reached Richarlison’s level yet.

Of course, if the Blues pay £60 million for Gordon it will be for the player he could become, rather than the player he is now.

But if you compare the impact that both players had at Everton, it makes Paratici’s deal for Richarlison look like an absolute bargain.

The Brazil international is a player who can make a huge impact on Tottenham’s team right now, whereas Gordon will most likely be a player for the future at Chelsea.

Richarlison has performed consistently in the Premier League for four seasons now and will undoubtedly become a key figure at Spurs.

Gordon has certainly shown promise, but it seems that Chelsea are paying way over the odds for him when you look at the fee Spurs paid for Richarlison.
