Enzo Maresca needs to get Chelsea back on track.
After such an impressive start to the 2024/25 campaign under the Italian, the Blues have now slipped to fourth in the Premier League after a run of three games without a win.

A 0-0 draw against Everton has been followed by a 2-1 defeat to Fulham and a 2-0 loss at Ipswich, a run of results which will surely leave Enzo Maresca with concerns over some of his players.
For example, Axel Disasi has hardly shone during this recent streak of poor results, making a dreadful mistake against Ipswich for Omari Hutchinson’s winner, although Chelsea have already made an exciting signing who could shove the Frenchman down the pecking order in Aaron Anselmino.
Aaron Anselmino is now at Chelsea
Back in July, Chelsea beat Manchester United and Newcastle to Anselmino – agreeing a £17m deal with Boca Juniors before loaning the precocious central defender back to the Argentinian giants.

As the Blues surged up the Premier League under Maresca, nobody was really longing for the 19-year-old to arrive at Stamford Bridge as soon as possible, with few talking about his impending arrival.
However, we feel Chelsea fans ought to be very excited, with the teenager now inside Stamford Bridge and ready to get going.
TBR Football understand Chelsea have added Anselmino to their squad after deciding to recall the South American wonderkid from Boca Juniors, as Maresca wants defensive reinforcements and is keen to take a look at the talent born in Bernardo Larroude.
Enzo Maresca has a special talent on his hands
It is not outlandish to say that Anselmino could walk into west London and quickly shove Disasi and Tosin Adarabioyo down the pecking order – he is that talented.
Juan Roman Riquelme has already tipped the teenager for greatness, telling ESPN: “He has developed a lot. With the growth, the head that he has and the desire to learn that he shows, he is on his way to being a great footballer.”

Anselmino – described as the “great jewel” of Boca Juniors by Argentinian media – also possesses plenty of pace, which could entice Maresca to start him, given the Italian’s preference for a high defensive line.
With plenty of room for improvement in Chelsea’s backline at the moment, this could be the ideal time for Anselmino to be arriving at Stamford Bridge.
