Champions League side plan to try again to sign ‘extraordinary’ 23-year-old Arsenal player in January

AC Milan are planning to make another attempt at opening talks with Arsenal over Jakub Kiwior, with the Rossoneri prepared to make a lucrative offer to take the defender on an initial loan in January.

That is according to a report from Calciomercato, which notes that Kiwior likes the idea of returning to Serie A by moving to San Siro.

Jakub Kiwior has found the going at Arsenal quite difficult. He arrived in the most recent January transfer window as Mikel Arteta’s men pushed for the Premier League title.

Unfortunately, Kiwior was not convincing when he came in for Arsenal later in the campaign. And he has struggled for minutes in the opening months of this season, too.

Arteta wants to keep Kiwior at the Emirates. Arsenal are, once again, in title contention. And of course, they are back in the Champions League this year.

However, Milan are seemingly not ready to accept defeat in their bid to sign Kiwior. Calciomercato reports that they are looking to reach out to Arsenal again in an attempt to open talks over a potential loan move.

Milan are willing to pay to take the 23-year-old on loan with an option to buy. But it remains to be seen if Arsenal are open to holding discussions.

Arsenal have little reason to accept loan deal

A loan move does not exactly make a lot of sense for Arsenal. They should be looking to strengthen in January. But there may not be a lot of money to spend after the changes they have made over the last few years.

Loaning out Kiwior will not bolster Arteta’s transfer budget. And it will obviously see a defender leave the club at the time when they need depth.

Kiwior may be struggling to put pressure on the likes of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, but he is a player Robert Lewandowski has labelled ‘extraordinary‘.

So Milan are surely going to need to make a remarkable offer to get Arsenal to change their stance.
