Cesc Fabregas names club Spurs star Harry Kane would be perfect for

Cesc Fabregas has told The Telegraph that he believes that Real Madrid would be the perfect move for Harry Kane, insisting that the Spurs star would be the ideal replacement for Karim Benzema.

Kane, of course, continues to be heavily linked with a potential move away from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He is reportedly keen on joining Manchester City. However, Daniel Levy is not planning to make it easy for the Spurs talisman to leave.

It was previously claimed that he would not be sold to a Premier League rival. And that obviously limits the clubs Kane could swap Tottenham for.

But Fabregas has suggested that heading abroad may be the best move for the 27-year-old, as he claimed that he could be made for the Bernabeu.

“For a long time I have felt that Harry Kane would be the perfect replacement for Karim Benzema at Real Madrid,” he told The Telegraph.

“Of course, Benzema showed again at the European Championships that he is not going anywhere and that he is playing very, very well, but the fact I even think Kane is capable of taking over from him in Madrid shows how highly I rate him.

“The pressure at Madrid, like it was at Barcelona, is not something every player could cope with. But if Benzema ever left or ever started to slow down a little bit, then Kane would be the right guy for them.”

Real Madrid move surely unlikely for Harry Kane

Benzema has been in sensational form in recent years. He scored 30 goals last season, including 23 in La Liga.

He also made a fantastic return to the international stage. Benzema shone when playing for France at Euro 2020.

So Los Blancos have little reason to search for a replacement. Admittedly, he turns 34 later this year. But parting with £150 million to bring Kane in alongside him is surely not going to happen.

It remains to be seen if another club does meet Spurs’ demands for Kane. Manchester City were linked with making a bid not too long ago.

But surely, Madrid are not going to be the side to make the offer Levy would reluctantly accept.
