Jamie Carragher has told The Overlap that he cannot see Harry Kane leaving Tottenham Hotspur during the summer, suggesting that the ship has sailed regarding a potential move to Manchester City.

Kane’s future has become a talking point once again. He has rediscovered his best form in recent months. And he has been transformed under Antonio Conte.

Of course, last summer was a turbulent one for Kane. Reports claimed Manchester City wanted the forward. But ultimately, Daniel Levy managed to hold onto his talisman.

However, with no new contract signed, it is looking likely to be another long summer for Tottenham fans.

Manchester United reportedly want Kane. And they are prepared to offer Anthony Martial as part of the deal.

Carragher has suggested that he believes that the striker would like a fresh challenge in the summer, but he is not convinced that he will get the opportunity.

“I can’t see Harry Kane leaving Tottenham now. I think he’d like to leave in the summer if he got the opportunity,” he told The Overlap.

“Maybe I’m wrong. But I just think that ship has sailed with Manchester City. He’s a year older. He’s still a fantastic player, but there’s talk of Haaland coming in.”

Good time for Kane to be at Tottenham if Manchester City do not come calling

Obviously, Manchester United are a club that most players would struggle to turn down, no matter what position they find themselves in.

However, it would be little more than a sideways step right now. Tottenham certainly have real potential while Kane and Antonio Conte are at the club.

They have already made progress under the Italian. And there is plenty of anticipation ahead of the summer.

If Conte and Kane stay, Tottenham have a fantastic opportunity to get themselves back towards the heights they hit under Mauricio Pochettino.

So unless Manchester City do come calling, surely Kane will be taking a gamble if he decides to leave Tottenham.
