‘Bring it on': Shakhtar Donetsk send out image featuring Mykhaylo Mudryk on Twitter as Arsenal close in
Shakhtar Donetsk have now sent out an image featuring Mykhaylo Mudryk on Twitter as Arsenal reportedly edge closer towards signing him.
Mikel Arteta is seemingly closing in on signing his top transfer target in Mudryk, with Ben Jacobs reporting yesterday that Arsenal held positive talks over a move earlier this week.
The Gunners have been locked in talks with Shakhtar since the start of the transfer window as the Ukrainian outfit hold firm on their valuation of the 22-year-old.
French outlet Foot Mercato reports that Arsenal are finally close to reaching an agreement with Shakhtar in a deal worth around £88 million.
Despite positive noises emerging in recent days, Arsenal fans may be beginning to worry about what is holding the deal up. Mudryk has made it clear he wants a switch to the Emirates, posting a number of hints on his social media accounts in recent weeks.
Now, Shakhtar have posted a picture of the winger in training today and sent a clear message to the north London club.
Shakhtar send out Mudryk image
The Ukrainian giants are now preparing for the second-half of their campaign to get underway.
And they took to Twitter this morning to post a picture of Mudryk training alongside his Shakhtar teammates.
They wrote: “Bring it on! We are starting our preparation for the second-half of the season.”
Arsenal fans may have been hoping that their side were close to finally bringing the youngster to north London. But judging by Shakhtar’s latest post, the move doesn’t seem to be imminent.
Arteta may have been hoping to wrap up a deal for Mudryk by the end of this week, especially with the north London derby on Sunday.
The Gunners are in desperate need of bringing in some attacking reinforcements after Gabriel Jesus picked up a knee injury at the World Cup.
It seems like it’s only a matter of time before Mudryk ends up in north London though, despite Shakhtar posting an image of their player today.
