Liverpool are hoping to make it two signings in quick succession but could now agree a shock deal with La Liga giants Barcelona ahead of the transfer deadline.

Red Bull Salzburg are managed by Jurgen Klopp’s former assistant Pep Lijnders and have already signed Clark on a permanent basis.

Lijnders now wants Bajcetic took and ‘advanced talks’ were held on Tuesday ahead of a potential deal.

Barcelona are now barging into the race though and will hope to hijack Lijnders with a deal in the coming days.
