Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte won’t let Bryan Gil leave the club this summer until he’s signed a replacement, according to journalist Matteo Moretto.
Gil has been heavily linked with a move back to Valencia after spending the second half of last season on loan at the Spanish club.
Gil was surprisingly named amongst the substitutes when Spurs drew 2-2 with Chelsea on Sunday. And Conte has said that Gil is part of his squad.
But it seems that the Italian will let the 21-year-old leave, as long as he can sign a replacement first.

Conte won’t let Gil leave
But Spurs will not let him leave until they’ve signed a replacement for the Spaniard.
The deal is not completely dead but it relies on Conte bringing in a like-for-like replacement.
Conte has a wealth of attacking options at Spurs after signing Richarlison this summer.
The Italian added the former Toffees striker to options such as Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Moura.
It’s unlikely that Gil will get minutes this season, unless Conte is hit with an injury crisis at Spurs.

Yet, the Italian is not ready to take the risk and wants to sign a replacement before letting Gil go.
Spurs have been linked with a move for Roma winger Nicolo Zaniolo but talks have reportedly stopped. The Italian would have been the ideal replacement for Gil in the Spurs side.
But for now, it seems that Gil will be staying in North London until Spurs can find a suitable replacement for Conte.
