Aston Villa fans have called for Unai Emery to name one of the club’s Under-21s stars in his matchday squad for the trip to Sunderland after his latest Premier League 2 heroics.
Aston Villa are in real need of a pick-me-up after a poor start to the season in which they are yet to score in the Premier League or win in any competition.
The Villans did manage to get a goal on board in the midweek Carabao Cup trip to Brentford, but some poor penalties in the shootout saw them eliminated.
Now, Villa are taking on a high-flying Sunderland outfit and fans would love to see one of their youth stars in the squad after a brace and assist last time out.

Aston Villa fans urge Unai Emery to name Bradley Burrowes in Sunderland matchday squad
With Villa’s academy winning the Under-18 Premier League title last season, it’s clear that there are some wonderful players in their ranks.
One such player is Bradley Burrowes, a 17-year-old attacking midfielder who has already made his debut for Unai Emery’s side.
On Friday, Burrowes struck twice in the opening half hour to put Jimmy Shan’s side 2-0 up against Everton’s Under-21s.
The scorer then turned provider at the start of the second half with a through-ball for Cole Brannigan, who made it 3-0.
Although Everton fought back and got back to within a goal, Villa held on for all three points, with Burrowes’ contributions proving vital.
One Villa fan wrote on X: “Get him on the bench!”, while another said: “Bradley Burrowes on fire for the U21s.”
The praise kept coming, with one fan saying: “Players like this need to be included in the 18 and then brought on for the last few minutes, that’s how it used to work!”
Another said: “Brad Burrowes’ attacking prowess again on show!”
Bradley Burrowes factfile: The ‘quick, powerful’ winger with a bright future
Burrowes has been with Villa’s academy since 2021, when he joined from the Bristol Rovers setup.
He has been described by The Athletic as a ‘quick, powerful winger who can play on either flank or as a centre-forward and is comfortable on the ball with both feet.’
Burrowes, who opened his account for the season against West Bromwich Albion’s U21s, made his senior debut when he came off the bench against Crystal Palace in August.
The 17-year-old is firmly on Emery’s radar and hopefully he will be involved a lot more with the first team over the course of the season.
