Despite doom and gloom, Aston Villa have a 21-year-old ‘Rolls Royce’ in their ranks with a big future ahead

Aston Villa may not be doing well at present, but there is certainly scope for things to pick up over the coming weeks.

Unai Emery is a world-class manager, and hopefully once the new recruits gel with the squad, results will improve.

In addition, one Aston Villa academy graduate has been quietly impressing for Emery’s side, showing that he has a bright future at Villa Park.

Lamare Bogarde impressing despite Aston Villa’s poor start to the season

The player in question is Lamare Bogarde, who has been one of Villa’s best players since the start of the season.

Bogarde’s primary position is in defence, but Emery has been utilising him in midfield of late.

The 21-year-old did well against Brentford, reading the game well and delivering a superb tackle on Antoni Milambo in the first half.

Prior to the Carabao Cup loss, Bogarde got his first league start since February when he started against Everton.

Although he looked a little rusty in the beginning, he grew into the game and delivered a solid display on and off the ball.

Many Villa fans on social media have been saying that Bogarde has been one of the few players who can hold his head high over the past few weeks.

At just 21 years of age, Bogarde is still at the start of his professional career and, the way he is developing, it’ll be exciting to see how he continues to develop.

Alongside Bogarde, Harvey Elliott was one of Villa’s best players on the night, scoring on his first start for the club.

Bogarde also excels at clearances and winning aerial duels, while the number of tackles he makes on average is also at a good level.

Bristol Rovers coach Andy Mangan previously told the Bristol Post of his former loanee: “He has huge potential and he is another exciting player that we are very lucky to have at our football club.”

Mangan also said: “We have got Lamare, who is a Rolls Royce and the fans will see he is a top player. He is really well thought of at Aston Villa.”

Bogarde is certainly starting to realise this potential at Villa.
