It looks set to be a busy deadline day in north London as it’s feasible that Arsenal could still make two more signings and also sanction more departures.
Mikel Arteta and Edu are trying to carefully craft a title-winning squad at Arsenal, one that is also responsibly built in the eyes of PSR.
Therefore, Arsenal won’t be signing Victor Osimhen, who looks like he could be heading for a late loan move to Chelsea instead.
Right now, Arsenal are focused on signing a backup goalkeeper – Neto has just undergone a medical, and there’s also talk of signing a new attacker at the last minute.
Fortunately, Sky Sports journalist Gary Cotterill has just provided an update live from inside the Emirates Stadium, and he didn’t forget to mention the name of Raheem Sterling.
Arsenal discuss Raheem Sterling amid plans for ‘explosive’ deadline day deal
Cotterill glossed over a number of the key sagas Arsenal are involved in on deadline day, including a deal for Kingsley Coman.
And the journalist thought that with Eddie Nketiah’s imminent departure to Crystal Palace, Arsenal’s outgoings could reach as many as 10 players.

Cotterill shared: “There is work being done I am being told by Edu to potentially bring in an explosive attacker are the words being used, to help the rest of the squad in that area, particularly Saka.
“Raheem Sterling’s name has been mentioned intriguingly, Mikel Arteta is a big fan of Sterling, he has said so in the last week or so and knows him from his Man City days.
“That would be an extremely difficult deal to do because of Sterling’s wages, he would have to take a wage cut to properly 50% of his wages at Chelsea.
“He would also have to negotiate his way out of his Chelsea contract or certainly part of it and with the deadline approaching that does seem like a difficult one to do.
“Kingsley Coman is another option being looked at.
“Outs – the number could rise to 10 before the day is out as we know Eddie Nketiah is probably about to be announced by Crystal Palace.”
Raheem Sterling would be a better option than Kingsley Coman for Arsenal
Although a deal for Coman could be easier to achieve for Arsenal on deadline day, the Gunners should be pushing for Sterling out of the two.
Sterling can provide experience and quality for Arteta, a player who has an excellent record of availability.
On the other hand, Coman has often been missing through injury at Bayern Munich over the years.
An Arsenal insider has provided the truth behind the Coman links – stating that a deal still is on the table for the club right now.
And once the club secure a new backup goalkeeper, it will be fascinating to see what comes next before the deadline.
