Victor Osimhen has agreed Premier League loan move after links with Arsenal and Chelsea

Ever since the start of the summer, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Chelsea.

Arsenal are often linked with signing a new centre-forward given Gabriel Jesus’ time in north London has been disappointing on the injury and goalscoring front of late.

There’s little doubt that Kai Havertz is equipped to succeed under Mikel Arteta, who was originally intended to play as a number eight before his new found success as a nine.

But otherwise, many Arsenal supporters still feel as if their side may come unstuck over a long campaign – praying that Havertz never picks up a significant injury.

That being said, it now seems as if Chelsea could be taking an opportunity where Arsenal have seemingly decided to walk away.

Arsenal target Victor Osimhen could change his mind and head for Chelsea loan

For one reason or another, Arsenal don’t seem to be pushing at all to sign Osimhen on deadline day, they’re currently more focused on a few bargain deals.

And via Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol, it now seems as if Chelsea could win the race for the ‘unbelievable’ Nigerian.

Solhekol explained that Osimhen was against the idea of leaving Napoli on loan this summer, but could change his mind because of the addition of an obligation to buy.

Solhekol shared: “There has potentially been a significant development in talks between Chelsea and Napoli over a deal for Victor Osimhen.

“Chelsea are now prepared to bring the striker in on loan with an obligation to buy. Yesterday Sky Sports News reported that was something the Blues were considering.

“Osimhen has been clear all summer that he is not interested in a loan, but a loan plus an obligation to buy is effectively a permanent deal.

“Al Ahli are still trying to convince the Nigeria international to move to Saudi Arabia.

“A move to Jeddah makes much more sense financially for the 25-year-old and Napoli, but earlier this week his agent said the player had unfinished business in Europe.”

No deadline day move for Victor Osimhen to Arsenal

Of course, the question to then ask – are Arsenal making a mistake?

Countless pundits and fans have been urging the club to buy Osimhen, someone who’s seen as a genuine game-changer for the club.

However, it seems as if Arsenal are sticking firm to their plans, which have brought them this far.

Instead, Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto is having an Arsenal medical right now, an experienced head who will provide cover for David Raya this season.

But perhaps Arsenal could still have an attacking signing up their sleeve themselves, if the right opportunity arrives.

And the truth behind Arsenal links to Kingsley Coman on deadline day has now been shared.
