Arsenal transfer news: Kaoru Mitoma in no rush to leave, despite interest from the Gunners

Arsenal now have less than two weeks left of the January transfer window to strengthen their squad.

All eyes on whether or not they can add bring in another attacker before the window shuts.

A report from The Telegraph suggests that one potential target is in no rush to move on.

After missing out on Mykhaylo Mudryk to Chelsea, the Gunners have been re-evaluating their options.

A versatile forward is very much their number one priority, especially after the injury to Gabriel Jesus.

A report from Fabrizio Romano suggested that Arsenal are very close to signing Brighton forward Leandro Trossard.

The 28-year-old has made it clear he wants to leave the club, and the Gunners are looking to pounce.

Arsenal have also been linked with his Brighton teammate Kaoru Mitoma this month.

However, The Telegraph believe the Japanese international is in no rush to leave the Amex.

Given how well he and his teammates are playing right now, that’s hardly a surprise.

Arsenal target Mitoma in no rush to leave Brighton

A report from 90min this week suggested that Arsenal were keen on Mitoma.

Since breaking into the Brighton team this seaon, the 25-year-old has been one of the most exciting players in the league.

Incredibly direct, the ‘top-class’ attacker thrives in one-on-one situations against defenders.

After some promising cameos, he’s started to deliver goals and assists recently.

He’s scored twice since the World Cup, and caused Trent Alexander-Arnold nightmares at the weekend.

Arsenal may be about to bring in their desired attacking signing in Mitoma’s Brighton teammate Trossard.

However, as relayed by The Telegraph, that won’t worry the Japanese international right now.

‘The winger’s priority is self-improvement and he is far happier sitting at home in Brighton, analysing performance videos, than he is at a photoshoot or sparkly event.’ The Telegraph states.

‘As for a move away, he is happy where he is and is in no rush to leave.’

Whether Arsenal return in the summer to raid the Amex once again remains to be seen.

But with the form he’s in, it seems unlikely that Mitoma will be on the south coast for long.
