Arsenal look to be edging closer to landing one of their transfer targets, with DH Net reporting that personal terms have been agreed, while HLN has suggested that their current club are in talks to sign a replacement.

Albert Sambi Lokonga has been linked with a potential Emirates move for a little while.

It was recently reported that Arsenal had made a £13 million bid for the 21-year-old, and talks were set to continue.

And based on the latest reports, it does appear that a move may not be too far away – though there remains one major hurdle to clear.

According to HLN, Anderlecht are in talks to sign Fausto Vera as a replacement for Lokonga. They are also reportedly interested in Njegos Petrovic.

Meanwhile, DH Net is actually reporting that personal terms have been agreed.

In fact, they claim that Lokonga absolutely wants to join the Gunners amid interest from Sevilla and Atalanta.

But the report also suggests that the fee is yet to be agreed. And it is claimed that rival interest could drive the price up.

Arsenal cannot afford to miss out on transfer with deal seemingly so close

Of course, Arsenal should be wary of Anderlecht driving the price up. There may come a point when a move simply is not worthwhile.

But with personal terms agreed, it would be a huge shame to miss out. Arsenal are seemingly so close with £13 million apparently on the table.

The interest from clubs such as Atalanta and Sevilla only further highlights just how much potential Lokonga seems to have.

The good news for the Gunners is the youngster looks to have his heart set on a move to North London.

Surely they will now make sure that they get across the line.
