Arsenal target Ruben Neves hinted he will now look to leave Wolves

Ruben Neves has hinted that he will look to leave Wolves this summer, with the reported Arsenal target suggesting that he wants to go and live out a dream following the end of the Premier League campaign – in comments reported by the Express and Star.

Neves has been linked with leaving Molineux for a little while now. Reports have claimed that both Arsenal and Barcelona have shown interest in signing him.

Wolves fans made it clear how they would feel if he left this summer. The supporters suggested that there would be riots if he was sold during the final home game of the season.

Arsenal will certainly be on the lookout for more quality in midfield this summer. And Neves has absolutely proven that he is one ‘sensational‘ player during his time at Molineux.

It remains to be seen if any club meets Wolves’ valuation in the coming months. Bruno Lage has previously spoken of Neves being a £100 million player.

‘If I go’

But what does appear to be clear is that Neves is considering leaving. The midfielder spoke about his future after Wolves were beaten by Liverpool on the final day.

“If I go it will be really hard for me and my family, but as I told you we have dreams to live in a small space of time, and if anything happens, that’s why I was so emotional in the last game at home,” he said, as reported by the Express and Star.

“I don’t know how it’s going to be, but if it was my last game it’s really important. As I told you, I don’t know anything yet so for now I just think about my holidays and the national team.”

Neves hinted he will leave Wolves

Of course, Arsenal have been dealt a blow when it comes to pursuing players such as Neves. For much of the second-half of the season, it appeared inevitable that the Gunners would be able to offer Champions League football next year.

That is not the case. And with that, some players may not be as tempted to move to the Emirates.

Certainly, you would imagine Arsenal face a battle to convince Neves to join if Champions League clubs make a move in the months ahead.
