Arsenal still ‘interested’ in signing ‘outstanding’ striker who they’ve absolutely loved since 2022

Arsenal are one of the best teams in Europe but it seems like what continues to hurt them is the absence of a top-drawer striker within their ranks.

Despite lacking a world-class number nine, Mikel Arteta has managed to turn the Gunners into a side not many teams would fancy themselves to beat.

During the ongoing January transfer window, Arsenal seem intent on bringing in a striker to bolster their chances of usurping Liverpool and eventually becoming Premier League champions.

Mathys Tel is a name that is starting to be linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

So much so that sources have informed TBR Football that Bayern Munich’s Tel has been offered to Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal interested in Mathys Tel even before Bayern Munich move

More than 10 clubs are eyeing Tel, who is ready to leave Bayern once and for all. The 19-year-old has become a fringe player at the Allianz Arena and it seems like it would be best for all parties to move their separate ways.

Interestingly, journalist Philipp Kessler has revealed in his report for Tz that Arsenal are one of the many clubs who have been “interested” in signing Tel even before he joined Bayern Munich from Rennes in 2022.

Furthermore, Tel, who Harry Kane called “outstanding” is still attracting interest from the North London club.

The report mentions that following Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus’ injuries, Arsenal are looking to reinforce their attack this month.

Chelsea are keen on Tel’s signing as well but it has also been stated that he does not consider Enzo Maresca’s side as an option.

Tel has worries over playing regularly at Chelsea and besides, the advantage Arsenal have over the Blues is that they have a seven-point advantage over them in the league table whilst consistently challenging for titles.

Mathys Tel could play in three positions if he signs for Arsenal

One of the Frenchman’s most special attributes is his versatility.

Often, strikers are only capable of playing up front but Tel has played an equal number of games in his career up front and on the left-wing and the other chunk on the right flank.

Tel, who Owen Hargreaves raved about is one of Europe’s most talented young forwards and he needs a chance to display his outstanding talent on a regular basis.

If Arsenal do make a move for the Sarcelles-born finisher, he could potentially transform their fortunes.
