Arsenal reportedly want £17m midfielder that Lyon star Houssem Aouar raved about in March 2020

Arsenal are reportedly interested in luring Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes to The Emirates this summer. The Brazilian was a target for Edu before he joined the French club in January 2020. Arsenal fans will love what Houssem Aouar said about Bruno just two months after he joined.

Bruno, 23, is a target for Arsenal with Goal claiming that the Gunners are in talks to sign the one-time Brazil international. Lyon’s inability to qualify for the Champions League has plunged Lyon’s finances into doubt. It means that Lyon could sell Bruno – and Arsenal are now in talks to get him.

The report also states that Edu wanted him at Arsenal in January 2020, before Lyon signed him for £17million (Goal) from Atletico Paranense. Just two months after Bruno had joined, long-standing Arsenal target Aouar gave his verdict on Bruno. It is a verdict that will hugely excite Arsenal fans.

“He has real importance to the team game. He puts in a lot of effort, he pushes between the lines, constantly offers solutions for our defenders. His presence is doing us a lot of good. We understand each other very well. The whole team game is more fluid with him,” Aouar told GFFN in March 2020.

Aouar comments make Bruno a no-brainer for Arsenal

Not only is he a no-brainer because of Aouar’s comments, but because The Gunners desperately need a midfielder. Albert Lokonga has come in, but Dani Ceballos and Matteo Guendouzi have left. Mo Elneny is in the final year of his contract. Lucas Torreira and Granit Xhaka could also be sold.

The need for a midfielder, twinned with Aouar’s enormous praise of Bruno, make the South American star a signing that would massively improve Arsenal. Fans agree. Earlier on Friday, Arsenal fans gave their verdicts and the majority want him to sign on at The Emirates.
