Arsenal fans react as Gunners reportedly open talks to sign Lyon's Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes
Arsenal have reportedly opened talks to sign Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. The Gunners are in need of midfield reinforcements and are looking to take advantage of Lyon’s financial difficulties. Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to discuss Bruno, and many are all for his arrival.
Lyon’s failure to qualify for Champions League football has seen them lose out on a whole lot of cash. According to Goal, it means they will have to cash in on some of their best players – especially after losing Memphis Depay on a free. Bruno, 23, could be sacrificed with Arsenal keen.
A one-time Brazil international, Bruno has been excellent for Lyon since joining the club from Atletico Paranense in January 2020. Clocking up 46 appearances for Lyon since his move from Brazil, he has had a hand in seven goals. Certainly, he was one of Lyon’s best options.
What are Arsenal fans saying about Bruno Guimaraes?
Gunners fans are desperate to get him signed this summer. With Goal claiming Arsenal are in talks for Bruno, the report also states that sporting director Edu tried to get the midfielder in January 2020. However, Edu and Arsenal missed out as Lyon secured the Brazilian for a bargain £17million.
Arsenal fans want Edu to put things right. Many are desperate to see Bruno in an Arsenal shirt come the start of the season – with one fan suggesting Alexandre Lacazette should be included in a deal. Another fan thinks Bruno is a better option than Euro 2020 winner Manuel Locatelli.
