Arsenal might walk away from deal to sign ‘unbelievable’ £30m player because of his asking price

By their own choice, it seems as if Arsenal will conduct something akin to a one in, out policy with just over two weeks left of the window to go.

Edu has the transfer funds available to go all out and sign Arsenal’s key targets, but the club prefers to be cautious with their approach.

Fabrizio Romano’s claims about Arsenal’s finances were rubbished recently, a team who are in a strong position in the Kroenke era.

Instead, it’s a case of Arsenal not wanting to bloat Mikel Arteta’s squad this summer, the Gunners need to add depth without leaving players on the sidelines.

Eddie Nketiah’s Arsenal future is a good example, it seems unlikely that the Gunners would add another striker or winger until the Englishman was sold.

Should another striker come in and Nketiah stay, it would leave the 25-year-old minuteless and his value would deteriorate by the day.

That being said, to protect their PSR position in the future, Arsenal won’t pay over the odds for their targets either, and may now be priced out for a move for Brentford’s Ivan Toney.

Arsenal could be priced out of Ivan Toney move amid interest from Saudi Arabia

According to a new report by Caught Offside, Arsenal retain interest in Toney, who could still find a new club before August ends.

Toney could be tempted by Saudi Arabia advances in the coming weeks should a Premier League side not make a concerted move.

And according to the report mentioned, Toney’s price tag is the big sticking point preventing Arsenal from making a move right now.

Alongside Chelsea, Arsenal have a long-standing interest in the England international but would only be prepared to pay a cut-price for the striker who has one-year left on his contract.

Saudi side Al Ahli are said to be willing to pay Brentford £30m for Toney this month, intending to offer the 28-year-old a three-year contract worth £10m a year.

Of course, many Arsenal fans will still believe that Toney is such an obvious signing for the Gunners, a player who would strengthen their title prospects.

But as we’ve seen in past pursuits of Mykhailo Mudryk or Moises Caicedo, Arsenal won’t play more than what they believe is good value.

That being said, Darren Bent has warned Arsenal about making a different mistake in the final weeks of the window.
