Right now it seems realistic that Arsenal will make at least two more signings this summer, attempting to ready Mikel Arteta’s squad for the season ahead.
Mikel Merino is close to joining Arsenal, and it then seems as if Edu will attempt to sign a new forward, and possibly even a new goalkeeper.
Eddie Nketiah’s Arsenal future will be a key to any progress in that regard, a player who will probably need to leave before a new attacker arrives in north London.
Similarly, Aaron Ramsdale would have to go before the Gunners welcomed a new backup for David Raya.
Arsenal have rejected a loan bid from Ajax for Ramsdale, who they would prefer to sell permanently this summer.
That being said, if all those pieces fall into place, Arteta would benefit from the arrival of a new forward, and not necessarily just a striker.
Jamie Carragher recently said that Arsenal need a ‘world-class’ attacker, someone to add fresh impetus to Arteta’s front line.
And with that in mind, Arsenal are interested in signing Kingsley Coman on loan from Bayern Munich according to reports.
Darren Bent thinks Arsenal should think twice about signing Kingsley Coman
Coman is said to be available on loan via reliable reports in Germany, a 28-year-old who has won so much in his career to date.
On paper, Coman would be an excellent signing, able to play on either wing, and someone who would add much-needed experience to this Arsenal squad.

However, the £18m-Frenchman has struggled with injuries over the past few seasons, perhaps not the electric talent that he once was.
And when speaking on talkSPORT (12/08, 6:12pm), Bent sent a warning to Arsenal that Coman may now be on the decline.
The pundit recognised that the Bayern winger was still an excellent talent, but one that isn’t quite at his peak.
Bent said: “He is probably on the decline now, do you know what I mean? Last year was the first year that he hadn’t won a league title in his career.
“He is on the decline, but he is a very good player.”
Of course, considering Arsenal are said to be interested in a loan deal for Coman, perhaps that could protect their position from that perspective.
An were the Frenchman to stay fit for the whole season, he could definitely be an important addition in north London.
