Arsenal left it late to rescue a point against Manchester City, with Gabriel Martinelli scoring a big goal for the Gunners in stoppage time.

Mikel Arteta’s team were left frustrated for much of the match, as Pep Guardiola and his side took the lead through Erling Haaland early on.

It was tough for Arsenal to open up the Man City defence, but it was Arteta’s substitutions in the game that made all the difference.

A fantastic long-range pass from Eberechi Eze found Gabriel Martinelli through on goal, as he lobbed Gianluigi Donnarumma to equalise in stoppage time.

Now, after an important point and a much-changed second-half performance, Arsenal fans now want Arteta to make one key change.

Arsenal fans want Eberechi Eze to start after his impact against Manchester City

Eberechi Eze’s transfer to Arsenal came with plenty of excitement, but he has yet to get a consistent run of games to pick up some form.

Starting on the bench for the Gunners against Man City, his impact in the second half was clear as he picked up an important assist for Martinelli’s equaliser.

After that display, fans have made it clear to Arteta that Eze must start the next game, rather than being dropped to the bench.

Taking to social media, one fan said: “Eze should have started in the middle.”

Another added: “I don’t want to see Eze dropped again.”

Fans poured praise on Eze for the assist, stating: “What an assist by Eberechi Eze.”

“Eze has quarterbacked the ball there. Martinelli, top quality finish,” another fan said.

“Btw can we talk about that eze assist wow man,” one supporter claimed.

Another simply said: “Thank you, Eze. Thank you.”

It shows just how much the fans have valued the creative streak from their new signing, and they can’t wait to see more.

Eberechi Eze’s statistics from Arsenal vs Manchester City

Eberechi Eze picked up his second assist of the Premier League season with his fantastic lobbed pass towards Gabriel Martinelli.

It was a key moment in the clash, helping to earn his team a potentially crucial point, but his overall performance was impressive too.

The 27-year-old was given freedom to float around in space, taking 32 touches with 87% passing accuracy.

Eze had one opportunity to score himself, a shot from inside the box that was palmed away by Donnarumma.

He won half of his duels, which will please Arteta, while he showed just how important he could be for this season.
