Arsenal Transfer News: Leandro Trossard update as Gunners seek Mudryk replacement
Arsenal are exploring the possibility of signing Leandro Trossard from Brighton, as the Gunners seek an alternative to Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Arsenal are now back in the market after Mudryk penned a mega-money deal with Chelsea. The Ukrainian seemed to be heading for The Emirates until a late dive from Chelsea sealed his signing.
For the Gunners, they must now draw up a list of alternatives. And according to 90Min, Brighton forward Trossard is among the players being considered.
90Min writes how Arsenal have explored a deal for Trossard. They are believed to see him as an attainable signing given his recent breakdown with Brighton coach De Zerbi.
Trossard was dropped this weekend by Brighton amid reports he could sign elsewhere. Tottenham are thought to be in the mix to land the Belgian, meaning Arsenal would need to pip their biggest rivals to a deal.
Lauded as a ‘magnificent‘ player, Trossard has enjoyed a good season with Brighton up until recently. He scored a hat-trick against Liverpool to cement his status as a top PL player.
Brighton are believed to be looking for around £30m to sell Trossard.
TBR’s View: Trossard a risky one for Arsenal
It’s never a good look when you fall out with a manager is it? Trossard is clearly a very good player but his run in with De Zerbi leaves a lot to be desired.
For Arsenal, bringing in a player who some might feel has a bit of an attitude about him could be risky. The Gunners are flying, and they won’t want to risk rocking the boat at all.
Sure, Trossard can help Arsenal out in terms of ability on the field. But right now, he might not be the best option and there are others out there as well.
