A report has named one player Arsenal fans should keep an eye on in the final days of the January transfer window, seemingly hinting that the Gunners could be considering a late move.

It has been a quiet window for Mikel Arteta‘s side so far. Arsenal are yet to make a signing despite Saturday marking only their second win in their last eight games in all competitions.

It does appear that the Gunners are in a difficult situation due to Profit and Sustainability. The signing of David Raya on loan at the end of the summer hinted that there is not a lot to spend.

Kyle Walker-Peters could come onto Arsenal radar

But it seems that Arsenal are keeping their eye on potential targets anyway. And according to a report from TEAMtalk, one player Gunners fans should be looking out for is Kyle Walker-Peters.

The 26-year-old has been outstanding for Southampton since his £12 million move from Tottenham. And he has not missed a minute in the Championship so far this season.

Arsenal were monitoring Walker-Peters in the summer. Meanwhile, Chelsea have been linked with Walker-Peters, with Mauricio Pochettino seemingly eyeing a reunion with the full-back.

Summer bid surely much more likely

Walker-Peters would not necessarily be a marquee addition for Arsenal. But he is a player who is very comfortable playing in both full-back roles. He made his Premier League debut for Spurs at left-back, so he is very capable on that side of the pitch.

Russell Martin has described Walker-Peters as a ‘beautiful’ footballer. And while he is playing in the second tier, you would imagine that Southampton are going to have no interest in letting him go on the cheap.

It is therefore, surprising that Arsenal are being mooted as a potential admirer of Walker-Peters ahead of the final days of the window.

Surely, if the Gunners are going to make a move, it will come in the summer rather than before the end of next week.
