Arsenal find themselves competing with some of Europe’s top clubs this summer for some of their top targets.
Mikel Arteta is finding himself having to wait to see the first signing walk through the doors in north London.
The wait to see Arsenal make their first signing of the summer is dragging on with talks ongoing for a number of players.
However, the Gunners have been unable to get the proposed deal over the line with Bologna.
Other potential options are going on elsewhere but Arsenal are finding themselves in the market to sign players who some of Europe’s top clubs are battling for.

Arsenal set for Real Madrid battle to land summer target
Another prime example of Arsenal finding themselves in the market for players which other top clubs want to sign is with Nico Williams.
The Spanish winger is a player on the radar of a lot of clubs this summer and Arsenal find themselves battling Barcelona for Williams’ signature.
Arteta’s side are looking to address most areas of their side with new goalkeepers also on the radar.
And it appears one of the shot stoppers which Edu Gaspar has identified is now being tracked by another huge Spanish club.
According to COPE’s Javier de Haro, Real Madrid are now showing a real interest in the Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia.
Now Arteta finds himself rivaling the two biggest clubs in Spain for two seperate players.
However, it is suggested that the ‘excellent‘ Garcia would prove an expensive option for Madrid to be a backup goalkeeper given Espanyol are not looking to negotiate away from his €25m (£21m) release clause.
One other encouraging sign for the Gunners is that Garcia is said to be keen on the possibility of joining Arsenal if they are to make an offer.
Arsenal in the market for goalkeepers this summer
Garcia is expected to be an option to potentially replace Aaron Ramsdale who is expected to move on from Arsenal this summer.
But it is not just a number two goalkeeper which Arteta is said to be keen to bring in this summer.
Arsenal are said to have scheduled a medical for Ajax goalkeeper Charlie Setford with terms agreed between the two clubs.
This follows Arsenal’s attempts to sign Dan Bentley from Wolves earlier in the month which fell on deaf ears.
Although they are not expected to be additions that could transform Arsenal’s hopes in the title race, it appears big changes are going to be made between the sticks.
