Ange Postecoglou may already look doomed at Nottingham Forest, but he has been told he can rely on one of his bargain summer recruits.
Postecoglou was the subject of “sacked in the morning chants” from Forest’s supporters after their 3-2 defeat against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Evangelos Marinakis’ gamble to sack the popular Nuno Espirito Santo and appoint the former Tottenham boss in his place has backfired, and patience among matchgoers is already wearing thin.
That is no surprise considering Forest have not won a single game under their new manager, while losing four of his first six games across all competitions.
Robert Earnshaw, however, is confident that one player can produce the goods for him.

Robert Earnshaw praises Nottingham Forest striker Igor Jesus
Nottingham Forest spent big during the summer window, bringing in the likes of Dan Ndoye from Bologna, Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich Town and £30m man Dilane Bakwa from Strasbourg.
While Nuno was controversially dismissed after the 3-0 home defeat against West Ham United in August, Postecoglou certainly has the foundations of a strong squad to work with.
Earnshaw, looking to focus on the positives, also singled out striker Igor Jesus for praise.
“Omari Hutchinson, quality young player, [James] McAtee from Man City. Douglas Luiz, he’s injured right now, but Douglas Luiz is somebody who was missing last night,” Earnshaw said on talkSPORT Breakfast.
“You look at up front, you now have Igor Jesus, who’s been on fire. I think he’s a steal at around £10million, I think they got him for.”
Jesus, signed from Botafogo on a four-year deal, has scored four goals in his eight appearances across all competitions this season. He also has two from two in the Europa League, an impressive return.

Ange Postecoglou speaks out on his future
Various reports have suggested that Postecoglou’s future will be decided by Marinakis during the upcoming international break.
Forest return to action in the Premier League at Newcastle United on Sunday, and a defeat there could well spell the end for the 60-year-old.
But, speaking after his side’s loss against FC Midtjylland, Ange Postecoglou insisted his focus was solely on picking up results for the club, and not on his uncertain future.
“The fans are disappointed and they are entitled to have an opinion on it. I heard their opinion,” he said.
“Nothing surprises me in football anymore. I guess it’s just the climate we are in and it seems that this is the way things are going.
“It’s nothing I can control. I have just got to make sure we get some wins for this football club.”
