After their latest defeat, Ange Postecoglou’s spell in charge of Nottingham Forest has gone from bad to worse this week.
Postecoglou has not won since replacing Nuno Espirito Santo at Nottingham Forest. Their latest outing ended in a 3-2 defeat against Midtjylland in the Europa League.
The Premier League side dominated possession and had 22 shots throughout the game, but that wasn’t enough to secure a point.
Nottingham Forest fans didn’t hold back their thoughts on what they’ve seen under Postecoglou either, as chants of “You’re getting sacked in the morning” rang around the City Ground.
Supporters have continued to express their feelings after the game as well, taking to social media to express their desire for Postecoglou to be removed immediately.
Nottingham Forest fans are pushing for Ange Postecoglou to be sacked
With Nottingham Forest’s latest result, Postecoglou has become the first permanent manager in the last 100 years to be winless in their first six games in charge of the club.
Nottingham Forest fans were surprised when Santo was sacked earlier this season, and they’re not holding back their thoughts on the man who replaced him
One fan admitted that, while they “want to give him time,” he “genuinely” doesn’t see where their next points come from, which is a problem for Postecoglou.
A different supporter compared Postecoglou to another tough time in their history by saying, “Embarrassing but this compares to Chris Hughton times, it’s so so poor!!”
Another person noted the defensive changes that have taken place by saying, “Forest were a team built on defensive solidity, they now look like last seasons Spurs.”
A different fan blamed the club, writing, “Everything that made Forest work on the pitch has gone, replaced by the Postecoglou Premier League playbook.”
Ange Postecoglou has already lost the support of the Nottingham Forest fans
Postecoglou, having the fans against him, is a feeling that he will be all too familiar with, as he experienced similar situations at Tottenham Hotspur.
While he brought Spurs a European title, supporters often voiced their displeasure at him and the situation.
That is happening again at Nottingham Forest, putting Postecoglou under immediate pressure to start picking up results, before the groundswell against him becomes too big.
Postecoglou will only have one more opportunity to secure a win before the international break, which is this Sunday when they play Newcastle United.
