Hugo Lloris has said Tottenham Hotspur‘s squad felt they were ‘too passive‘ in their match against Arsenal.
Spurs fell to their second league defeat of the season last night against Manchester United.
Tottenham’s best player on the day, Hugo Lloris, spoke after the match, via The independent.
Spurs lost 2-0 after goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes, however based on the performance it could have been a lot worse.
Lloris made a number of phenomenal saves at Old Trafford that avoided the match becoming a rout.

Rio Ferdinand thought the Spurs captain was ‘magnificent’, while Gary Lineker said the Frenchman was ‘superb’.
Lloris admitted that after the Arsenal match that Tottenham had been ‘too passive’ and ‘missed the game’.
Arsenal defeated their north London rivals at the Emirates 3-1 and put in a fantastic performance.
Spurs did well to keep them at bay, and Harry Kane’s penalty meant they were level at half-time.
However, they were overwhelmed after the break, and that misery was compounded by Emerson Royal’s red card.
Tottenham were too passive – Lloris
Speaking after last night’s disappointment at Old Trafford, Lloris said: “I would like to say Arsenal game is on the side because we were all agreed that we missed that game, we were too passive for different reasons.
“Today was not the case, against Chelsea was not the case.
“You can mention something it’s like we struggle a bit in the final third, to bring the ball into the box, to make the last pass, to create big chances during that type of game.”
Tottenham’s performances away from home against top sides are starting to become a cause for concern for their fans.

They rescued a last-minute point against Chelsea, before defeats to Arsenal, Sporting and Man United.
As Lloris said, Tottenham certainly looked passive at times last night, especially in possession.
They were outshot 28 shots to nine, only having two efforts on target all game.
Conte will be praying to have Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison back soon.
Spurs looked out of ideas from kick-off last night, and will be hoping to bounce back against Newcastle on Sunday.
