Spurs fell to a very disappointing 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford and were on the backfoot for most of the evening.

Manchester United were by far the better team and tested Lloris throughout the game, especially in the first-half.

Erik Ten Hag’s side managed ten shots on target on the night and if it wasn’t for Lloris, the scoreline could have been a lot worse for Spurs.

Lineker and Micah Richards highlighted the captain’s display on BBC last night and heaped praise on him for his save to deny Marcus Rashford.

The Frenchman got down brilliantly to palm Rashford’s powerful shot around the post.

It was just one of many superb saves on the night and the BBC pundits were full of praise for the Spurs man.

“Look at the save from Lloris, who was so unlucky to be on the losing side,” Richards said.

Lineker added: “He was superb, wasn’t he?”

Spurs were massively underwhelming on the night and didn’t offer much of a threat going forward.

Conte’s men have Lloris to thank for the fact they didn’t head back to London on the receiving end of an embarrassing scoreline.

Lloris was only beaten by a deflected effort from Fred at the beginning of the second-half and a brilliant finish by Bruno Fernandes.

The display will certainly worry Antonio Conte as his side underperformed away from home against a top six side yet again.

Tottenham have already lost to Arsenal at the Emirates this season and were very fortunate to pick up a point at Stamford Bridge.

If Spurs are serious about challenging towards the top end of the table, they will need to start performing at a much higher level in the big away fixtures. But on the evidence of last night’s display, Conte’s men have seemingly got a long way to go.
