Alan Shearer has given his verdict on the performance of Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min so far this season.

The Newcastle United legend and BBC Sport pundit has included Son in his Premier League Team of the Season.

So, what has Alan Shearer said about Son Heung-min? Let’s take a look.

Praise for Tottenham Hotspur and South Korea international Son Heung-min

Well, Alan Shearer has been compiling his Team of the Season in the Premier League so far, and he has included Son Heung-min in it.

The Newcastle United legend has noted that Tottenham Hotspur and South Korea international forward Son is a special talent and has backed him to score whenever he is with the ball in front of goal.

Son, who is now away on international duty with South Korea at the Asian Cup, has scored 12 goals and given five assists in 20 Premier League matches for Spurs so far this season.

The £22 million (The Guardian) South Korea international forward has made 288 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. He has scored 115 goals and given 57 assists in those games.

Shearer wrote about Son on PremierLeague’s official website: “He’s a special talent. When he gets the ball in front of goal, I have no doubt he will score.”

My View: Tottenham need Son Heung-min’s goals to be successful

In my opinion, Son Heung-min will have to maintain his form during the second half of the season for Tottenham Hotspur to be successful this campaign.

I believe that Spurs will miss Son, who could sign a new contract soon, during the time he is away at the Asian Cup, but as soon as he comes back, he will have to resume banging in the goals for fun for the North London club.

Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou rates Son highly and is relying on him for the goals that will see his team finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
