Although the focus will undoubtedly be on incoming transfers for Tottenham Hotspur in January, a certain contract renewal could be just as important.
Despite their struggles with injuries and suspension in the last few months, Ange Postecoglou’s side have recovered well.

And ahead of the January transfer window it seems that three clear targets have emerged.
Daniel Levy is thought to be chasing deals for a central defender, a midfielder and a forward.
Jean-Clair Todibo is a name that’s emerged as a potential defensive addition.
And in middle and attack, Conor Gallagher and Postecoglou’s former forward Jota are said to be considered.
However, there’s arguably a more important signing that Spurs could make than any of the names mentioned above.
After securing a new deal for Destiny Udogie recently, it now seems vital that Tottenham renew captain Son Heung-min’s contract.
Son will soon have 18-months-left on his contract, perhaps one that Tottenham should look to address in January.
And with that in mind, ESPN have reported that they may do just that.
Tottenham could offer Son Heung-min a new contract in January
According to ESPN’s report, £22m Son could be offered a new deal with improved terms, one that recognises his new role as captain.
Moreover, Spurs would be keen to help resist any interest from the Saudi Pro League that could emerge if Son’s deal was allowed to run down.

Although they repeatedly tried to avoid the situation, Tottenham have already experienced the perils of their key player entering the final year of their contract.
Harry Kane had a strong bargaining chip to pursue his move to Bayern Munich.
And although those fears don’t currently exist with Son’s contract, Tottenham would still be well advised to sort the renewal in January or soon after.
Looking ahead to this weekend’s tie against Everton, Postecoglou’s team do have a tough test on their hands.
Roy Keane and Ian Wright couldn’t agree on a result, with the latter not expecting a Spurs win.
However, with one Tottenham player heavily impressing in training, it seems that the mood in Postecoglou’s camp is very good.
And his side will want to continue their strong results whilst they seek similar success off of the pitch in January.
