Tottenham’s interest in signing Mohammed Kudus could spark some serious questions behind the scenes.
Thomas Frank, who has been appointed the new manager at Tottenham, has reportedly told the club to sign West Ham star Mohammed Kudus.
Kudus also wants to move to Spurs, and has no intention to negotiate with any other clubs despite interest from Arsenal.
Tottenham have made a third bid for Kudus, worth over £60m and it is expected to be accepted by the Hammers.
With the 24-year-old now closing in on a move to North London, one Tottenham attacker will be concerned about his position at the club.

How Tottenham signing Mohammed Kudus could impact Brennan Johnson
Tottenham signed Brennan Johnson for £45m in 2023, and the Welshman has proven to be a decent signing so far.
However, Kudus’ potential arrival could be seen as a threat to Brennan Johnson’s position in the team as a right-winger.
Kudus is a dynamic attacker whose primary position is at right wing but can also play on the left as well as an attacking midfielder.
The arrival of Johnson forced Dejan Kulusevski, another right-winger, to switch his position, and he was often played in the No.10 position.
Kudus is a much more creative and versatile player who is often a menace for the opposition with his quick feet and dribbling skills, compared to Johnson, who is not much of a dribbler and is more of a one-dimensional style winger, but is prolific inside the box.
Since the start of the 2023/24 season, no Premier League player has completed more dribbles than Kudus.
Comparing Mohammed Kudus vs Brennan Johnson’s goal contributions
Kudus has made 65 appearances in the Premier League so far since his move from Ajax, scoring 13 and assisting 12. His debut season saw him score 18 goals and assist 10 across all competitions.
The second season was slightly disappointing in terms of goal contributions, but a significant reason was the overall performance level of the team. He finished the season with just five goals and four assists in 35 games.
In contrast, Brennan Johnson scored 18 and assisted seven in 51 games across all competitions, taking his tally for Spurs to 23 goals and 18 assists in 85 games.
He has been in the Premier League longer than Kudus, scoring 24 goals and assisting 19 in 106 games.
| Player | Games | Goals | Assists | Total G+A | G+A per 90 |
| Mohammed Kudus | 65 | 13 | 12 | 25 | 0.43 |
| Brennan Johnson | 106 | 24 | 19 | 43 | 0.46 |
Who would fit better in Thomas Frank’s system
Frank plays a 4-2-3-1, a system which relies heavily on the wingers, as seen by the performances of Bryan Mbeumo at Brentford last season.
Inverted wingers play a huge role in the system. The system could see Kudus flourish under Frank at Tottenham, which may explain why Frank has identified Kudus as his top target at Spurs.
It remains to be seen what Frank has planned for Johnson, especially given that the manager has been a big fan of the player. Frank tried to sign Johnson at Brentford, even making a club record bid for him.
Johnson could be shifted to the left side, given the uncertain future of Heung-min Son, who is linked with a move to MLS, or he could be moved to a more rotational role.
Either way, Johnson will likely have concerns about the potential signing and could soon be seeking clarity from Frank regarding his role in the team going forward.
