Over the next few weeks, speculation linking Arsenal and Mykhaylo Mudryk is likely to intensify as the January transfer window draws ever closer.

The 21-year-old has previously liked social media posts discussing the prospect of him moving to Arsenal.

Mudryk himself has said he’d like to play for the Gunners, and has expressed his desire to join a top club soon.

The Ukraine international certainly looks ready for a big move, considering how he’s been faring at Shakhtar this season.

Mudryk’s tally this season reads 18 games, 10 goals and eight assists in all competitions.

And in the Champions League, he has registered three goals and two assists from six outings.

This shows Mudryk has what it takes to shine at the top level.

Now, Shakhtar’s fans have voted the young attacker as their Player of the Month for the third time in a row.

‘According to the club’s social networking opinion poll, he amassed 10,196 votes (almost 74% of the respondents),’ the club wrote on their website.

Less than half price?

So, how much can Arsenal expect to pay for Mudryk (according to reports)?

A few days ago, The Mirror reported that the North Londoners are close to winning the race for the youngster.

Apparently, Arsenal have ‘the framework of a deal in place’ after Shakhtar lowered their asking price.

They’re reportedly willing to accept £40million plus add-ons for a player previously valued at around £90million.

However, journalist Dean Jones told GiveMeSport that reports suggesting Arsenal could land Mudryk for a cut-price deal are wide of the mark.

“There’s no reason for that to happen and I’m told it’s probably not true,” he said.

“But even if it was around £60 million, I still think this deal would hold good value.”
