Conor Gallagher has suggested he won’t be joining Tottenham Hotspur in January now as he eyes a new Chelsea contract.
The midfielder has been speaking to The Evening Standard and discussed his future at Chelsea after a promising start to the season.
Spurs were in for Conor Gallagher over the summer, with Ange Postecoglou a huge fan of the player.
Tottenham were attempting to offload Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on deadline day but their failure to sell the Dane led to their move for Gallagher collapsing.

The 23-year-old has since starred for the Blues and even stepped up as captain in Reece James’ absence this season.
And after Tottenham failed to land the £40 million-rated midfielder, it seems he’s ready to put pen to paper on a new deal.
Gallagher suggests he won’t be joining Tottenham
Speaking to The Standard, Gallagher admitted that he’s confident he will sign a new contract with Chelsea soon, which would all but end Spurs’ pursuit of the player for the time being.
“I’m sure that will get sorted out, everyone knows Chelsea is my club and I love playing for them,” he said.
“The fans are brilliant and I’m loving right now and I’m sure it will get itself sorted out.”
Spurs are currently light of creative options in the middle of the park following James Maddison’s injury.
You can’t help but think Gallagher would have been the ideal man to step into Maddison’s role while he’s sidelined.

The Englishman would have also been an excellent fit for the box-to-box role in Postecoglou’s midfield due to his tireless work-rate.
But Spurs will probably have to look elsewhere come January as a new contract seems to be on the cards for Gallagher.
