One Tottenham target has now revealed that he doesn’t really care about reported interest coming from Spurs.

The player supposedly wanted by Ange Postecoglou made the comments when speaking to Bold in Denmark.

Morten Hjulmand now admits he doesn’t really care about Tottenham interest

Well – according to Sportslens – Tottenham would like to sign Denmark international Morten Hjulmand and have recently been scouting Sporting CP matches to take a closer look.

Now – however – the Dane himself has poured cold water on alleged interest from Tottenham.

After a reporter directly asked the Sporting CP No.42 about Tottenham, he said: “I don’t really care that much about it. I’m focusing on a very, very long season right now with Sporting, where we have many matches. There’s still a long way to go. We have an ambition that we set out before the season started, and we want to fulfil it.

“There are so many rumours in international football that it’s hard to make sense of it all. So, to be honest, it’s not something I spend time on. If I did, I could spend hours and hours speculating, but it’s not something I spend time on. I spend time on my daily life at Sporting and optimising myself there as a player.”

Tottenham fans won’t like to hear that, but Sporting CP supporters certainly will – Hjulmand sounds like a footballer who has his head firmly screwed on.

The 24-year-old has made 40 appearances in all competitions so far this season for the Portuguese giants, scoring three goals while also providing four assists.

We wouldn’t hold out much hope of this deal materialising, as it is entirely possible that Hjulmand simply does not like Tottenham.

The man from Kastrup actually has an Arsenal tattoo and is believed to support the Gunners, who are – of course – Tottenham’s bitter rivals.

Therefore, it would be quite a shock if Hjulmand joined Spurs this summer – especially after his unenthusiastic comments about interest from Postecoglou’s side.
