Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has now admitted that he wants to improve his performances at the club moving forwards this season.

Jorginho accompanied Mikel Arteta to the Champions League press conference prior to a vital tie with Sevilla.

And the Italian midfielder did admit that he’s been harsh on himself during his time at Arsenal

Speaking via HaytersTV, Jorginho said: “I’m quite harsh on myself so I always think I can do better, everyone can do better and that’s what I always try to do.

“I can improve to help my teammates and make things easier for them, try and make them look good, I think there is always margin to improve and that’s my job.

“That’s what I try to do.”

Of course, Jorginho has played a fairly significant role since he joined from Chelsea for £12m almost a year ago.

The 31-year-old was seemingly brought in to just cover for Thomas Partey, who is often injured, but his role has grown as time has progressed.

And although he’s sometimes criticised, Jorginho has been credited for helping to improve those around him at Arsenal.

Jorginho thinks every player at Arsenal can still improve

Ian Wright has recently pointed out that Jorginho doesn’t look to have the pace required for this level right now.

However, it does still seem that Jorginho is playing an important role behind the scenes, as well as his efforts on the pitch.

Declan Rice has previously pointed out that he’s been surprised at just how much he’s been learning from the Italian in training.

Moreover, Gabriel Jesus has also lauded Jorginho as Arsenal’s best trainer at London Colney.

Although he’s had some mixed moments on the pitch this year, he’s clearly proving pivotal off of it.

And Jorginho’s willingness to admit his own need to improve at Arsenal, is indicative of his strong character.

One that Arsenal and Mikel Arteta probably will need until the end of the season.
