'You're having a laugh', 'Pass': Some West Ham fans react as Premier League rivals demands £25m for 29 y/o
Some West Ham United fans were reacting to a report over Burnley’s asking price for a transfer for Chris Wood.
According to The Mirror, the Clarets are demanding more than £25m for Wood. The publication is claiming that the Lancashire outfit want more than the fee they got for Michael Keane when he moved to Everton.
However, the Irons are competing alongside Aston Villa, Everton and Crystal Palace for the striker.
Wood was in brilliant form last season, scoring 12 times in the Premier League. It was the fourth time in succession the New Zealand international hit double figures in the top-flight.
Meanwhile, Michail Antonio was the Hammer’s top scorer with 10 goals last year.
TBR View: Wood transfer would significantly boost West Ham attack
There is a significant need for attacking reinforcements this summer. The east Londoners did well to qualify for the Europa League, however, their squad is waffer thin.
Jesse Lingard joined on-loan in January to help boost the side’s European chances. His nine goals in 15 games won a staggering 11 points in a display of how poor West Ham were in attack.
Woods can add a consistent threat in the final third, something David Moyes’ side desperately need.
