Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has been speaking to the club’s official website and says Lucas Moura could yet get some minutes from the bench tonight.

Spurs face a crucial game in the Champions League against Eintracht Frankfurt this evening. Conte’s men were held to a goalless draw against the Bundesliga outfit in Germany last week.

The Italian was without both the ‘amazing’ Moura and Dejan Kulusevski for that game but he’s been handed a boost ahead of tonight’s clash.

He revealed yesterday that Moura will be available for the Frankfurt game and has now hinted that the Brazilian could get some minutes from the bench.

Conte says Moura could minutes tonight

Speaking to Spurs Play, Conte revealed that Moura will be named as a substitute tonight but could be introduced later on in the game.

He said: “About Lucas, he’s available tomorrow for the bench.

“He had three training sessions with us and his physical condition at the moment is not top, but at the same time it is good for him to come with us and sit on the bench.

“You never know what could happen during the game and for a short period he could play.”

Moura hasn’t featured for Spurs since the 2-2 draw with Chelsea back in August. The 30-year-old has been sidelined with a calf injury but now looks set to return to action.

The Spurs boss has been slightly short in terms of attacking options over the past week, but has been handed a double boost with Moura and Kulusevski returning.

Conte said yesterday that the Swedish winger will not be involved tonight as he doesn’t want to take a ‘risk’. But the return of Moura will certainly give him a different option from the bench.

Moura has fallen down the pecking order at Spurs since the arrivals of Richarlison and Kulusevski over the past 10 months. But the Brazilian will undoubtedly be an important squad option for Conte, especially with a packed fixture schedule before the World Cup starts next month.
