Antonio Conte shares what Tottenham doctors have told him about Dejan Kulusevski's injury

Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte faced the media today ahead of his side’s Champions League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt, and he delivered the latest on Dejan Kulusevski‘s injury.

The Swede has missed Spurs’ last three games due to a thigh issue. He has been a huge loss, but Conte has now issued a ‘really, really positive’ update on the 22-year-old’s fitness.

Antonio Conte shares what Tottenham doctors have told him about Dejan Kulusevski’s injury

One of the key questions from all Tottenham fans ahead of Conte’s press conference today was about Kulusevski’s injury.

The Swede, branded as a ‘sensational’ player, is a fan favourite at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and even though Richarlison has come in and done really well, many feel Kulusevski is the better option on the right flank.

Speaking about his fitness, Conte revealed that his star wide man is ‘almost ready’ to feature again. However, the doctors have apparently told him that there’s still a five per cent risk of another injury if he plays tomorrow.

That’s a risk the Spurs boss isn’t willing to take.

He said, as per Football London: “I think Deki is almost ready. Yesterday he had an MRI and it was really, really positive but at the same time, I spoke to the doctors and they said tomorrow we can have five per cent of risk.

“I don’t want to take risk because Deki is an important player for us. It would be stupid. We need patience and we’ve faced this situation well without him. Against Everton, I think he will be able to play.”

Conte’s right, it would be stupid to rush Kulusevski back when he’s not 100 per cent fit.

The Swede, despite not starting every game this season, has been one Spurs’ most impressive players. He has looked brilliant every time he has come off the bench, and if he hadn’t suffered that injury, he would’ve likely broken into the starting XI.

Tottenham take on Eintracht Frankfurt tomorrow at home and Conte definitely has enough firepower available in attack to beat the German side.

Kulusevski can get a few more days off and return against Everton this weekend in a game that will not be easy for Conte’s side.
