'You can see': Granit Xhaka says 25-year-old Arsenal teammate looks absolutely brilliant in training

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has told the Evening Standard that Gabriel Jesus looks absolutely brilliant in training

Jesus made the switch to Arsenal this summer from Manchester City and has got off to a flying start in North London.

The 25-year-old put in a ‘phenomenal’ display against Leicester on Saturday as he bagged his first two goals for the club.

The Brazilian was also impressive in Arsenal’s 2-0 win against Crystal Palace and looks to have settled in very quickly under boss Mikel Arteta.

And Xhaka has heaped praise on Jesus’ impact and feels he’s made a huge difference to the Arsenal team already.

Xhaka says Jesus looks brilliant

Speaking to the Evening Standard, Xhaka was asked if Jesus was the ‘missing piece of the puzzle’

“It looks like it at the moment,” he said.

“He is so important for us. You can see how much he works, not only because he is scoring and giving assists, but he works for the team unbelievably.”

The 29-year-old also went on to rave about Jesus’ commitment and brilliant displays in training.

He added: “He is like this every day in training. When he doesn’t score, he’s hungry and this is a striker who makes a difference in the end in the box, and we are so happy to have him. Let him continue and reach these numbers more and more.”

There’s no denying the impact Jesus has had on the Arsenal team so far as he’s fitted in seamlessly so far.

Arteta lacked a prolific goalscorer last season after Alexandre Lazacette’s dip in form and the departure of Aubameyang.

Eddie Nketiah stepped up to the role well but Jesus is a proven Premier League star, with four titles under his belt.

Arteta will be hoping the Brazil international continues his promising start and propels Arsenal back into the Champions League this season.
