‘You are a bull’…Pedro Porro seriously impressed by one Tottenham player’s effort v Luton today

Tottenham had to produce yet another late show today as they scraped their way past Luton Town to pick up another three points.

With Aston Villa following it up with a win of their own, Heung-Min Son’s late winner was of even more importance than first seemed.

For Tottenham, it was yet another example of having to leave it late and win. They’ve made quite the habit of doing that under Ange Postecoglou and it keeps paying dividends.

Of course, coming off the back of an international break which involved so many, three points was always going to be the most important thing for Spurs here.

A number of players came from miles away to get back home and be involved.

And Spanish full-back Pedro Porro seemed particularly impressed with the effort from one of his international teammates.

Porro, unlike some in the squad, had the relatively simple task of staying fairly local in terms of their world travel this past week.

For others in the Spurs side, though, things were a lot different.

A number of players had to go a long way to play, with the likes of Heung-Min Son, Cristian Romero and Gio Lo Celso among those travelling far and wide.

And after Tottenham and Argentina defender Romero had posted on his Instagram about a bit of jet lag, Porro was straight in the comments to praise his teammate.

Porro commented in Spanish with ‘Tú eres un toro!’, which when translated, basically means ‘You are a bull’.

Cristian Romero is everything Tottenham need

When the going gets tough and certain games look like they might get away, you need your best players to step up.

Today, Romero did that for Spurs in what was a tough battle with a physical Luton side who gave it their all.

Dealing with a big striker like Carlton Morris is never easy but in the end, Romero got the job done, even if he was suffering a bit by his own admission.

Romero has been some signing for Tottenham and the likes of Porro and more clearly adore him.

Ange Postecoglou, then, must be delighted to have a defender of Romero’s nature in the ranks.
