Newcastle United are at the centre of some of the biggest stories on deadline day.

Alexander Isak is about to make his move to Liverpool, and with Isak on his way out, the Magpies are in the market for another striker.

Nick Woltemade has signed for Newcastle, but the Magpies still need another forward.

Jorgen Strand Larsen has been linked to Newcastle, while Yoane Wissa has wanted a move to St James’ Park all summer long.

Wissa has expressed his desire to leave Brentford, and according to Fabrizio Romano, the striker is set to get his wish.

Yoane Wissa to Newcastle is progressing

According to Romano, Yoane Wissa’s move to Newcastle is now done.

Brentford had been steadfast in their stance that Wissa wasn’t for sale this summer, but, now, with Isak on his way to Anfield, things could be set to change.

£55m is a lot of money for Wissa, but after agreeing a £130m deal to sell Alexander Isak, Newcastle have cash to burn.

Yoane Wissa compared to Alexander Isak

Wissa is headed to Newcastle on transfer deadline day, and while he’s not the most glamorous name in the world, he could well be a good replacement for Alexander Isak.

Based on last season’s stats, there isn’t loads between Wissa and Isak as players.

Of course, whether or not Wissa can keep that level of scoring up in a new environment under a different coach remains to be seen, but the attacker has proven that he can score plenty of goals at this level.

This could quietly be one of the best moves of the transfer window once it goes through.
