“Yes please”: Tottenham fans excited by links to Premier League 20-year-old

Fresh transfer reports are linking Tottenham with Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey – and some Spurs fans on Twitter are buzzing with the speculation.

According to Sky Sports, Spurs are interested in a raid for the Brighton full-back during this summer’s transfer window. 

Apparently, he’s on the radar due to the fact Spurs expect their 28-year-old right-back Serge Aurier to leave.

It’s unclear on how much Lamptey would cost, but Brighton are in a real position of strength given his contract with them doesn’t expire until 2025. In addition, the report doesn’t say the 20-year-old is actively looking to move.

Lamptey is yet another that falls into the long list of talented English right-backs.

He may have a small 5ft 5in frame, but he’s usually one of the players that catches the eye most. His pace, athleticism and aggressiveness at right-back is exciting for a youngster.

They desperately need to improve their backline going into next season because it’s so often an Achilles heel.

Lamptey is’t the finished article, but has shown so much promise at his age. On a side note, it’s worth noting he’s had some bad luck with injuries during the recent league season.
