‘Yes please’, ‘Take him’: Some Tottenham fans want 25-year-old to leave, amid PL links

Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks is reportedly attracting interest from Premier League rivals Aston Villa – and some Spurs fans on Twitter have responded to claim it makes sense for the 25-year-old to leave this summer.

The Telegraph states on Wednesday that Villa are eyeing the Spurs player as a potential target. In addition, they are looking at an entire host of Premier League individuals to revamp their squad.

Hackney Gazette, as quoted by The Boot Room, detailed earlier in June that Winks could be heading for the exit doors at Spur this summer.

He’s a deep-lying central midfielder that is a great passer and extremely comfortable on the ball. However, the defensive side of his game can be found wanting at times.

His entire career has been spent with Spurs, so it would be odd watching him elsewhere.

Tottenham fans believe they should listen to Winks interest

A selection of Spurs fans on social media are open to the idea of selling 10-time capped England international Winks to Villa.

Firstly, he was unable to nail down a starting position during the 2020/21 season. His form was inconsistent, so they didn’t get the best from him. Secondly, he’s been a solid squad member for several years, but has never really set the world alight. Finally, it’s clear the squad needs strengthening to get over the line for silverware.

Nuno Espritio Santo’s appointment as Spurs boss on Wednesday night opens up so many questions about the futures of players, but rumours suggest Winks may be on his way out.
